Introduction: What started as a chance meeting at the 2007 Trance Energy has, in just under 3 years solidified into one of the freshest, most exciting electronic dance acts on the scene. With it has come a new multifarious trance sound that, globally, has begun to shatter underground clubs, arenas and festivals. Banding together under the name W&W has seen the collective careers of Wardt van der Harst & Willem Van Hanegem go into overdrive… As spinners they’ve delivered due damage to club nights and festivals and in 2009 their A-list-hammered track portfolio saw them conclusively tip the ‘next big thing’ scales. Now, in the new decade, W&W are ready to rule.

W&W Productions: With tracks like ‘Ensure’, ‘Show my Shuffle’, ‘Origin’ & ‘Stab My Speaker’, Willem and Wardt initially started out producing their own respective floor-thrillers. The serendipitous Trance Energy meet quickly bore their debut W&W production though, which came in the form of the mighty ‘Mustang’. ‘Dome’ & ‘Arena’ (which featured on the Armin Only DVD) followed up its freshman success and fast found the CDJs of trance luminaries like Tiësto, Ferry Corsten, Markus Schulz, Sander Van Doorn & Judge Jules. Tipped by Armin van Buuren as “the best up-and-coming production duo out there”, W&W have continued to rock federation trance to its core with ‘Mainstage’, the Sean Tyas-remixed ‘D.N.A’ and their Ummet Ozcan collaboration ‘Synergy’ each bringing floors to critical mass. Remix-side, their voracious rewires have proved equally as popular - most notably on Armin’s ‘Rain’, ‘Remedy’ (by UK pop starlet Little Boots) and those of Sander van Doorn, Leon Bolier, Sied van Riel, & others.

DJs: Almost a year to the day since Willem & Wardt first shook hands they were on hand to witness Sander van Doorn spinning the furiously phat beats and compressed melodies of ‘Mustang’ at Trance Energy. Galvanised by its floor-response (and defining their sounds as “big room trance with a techy edge”), they, themselves quickly took up the spinning mantle. That route has taken them to some of the most respected nights out there. Ones that have come to include Poland’s Sunrise Festival, the A State Of Trance 400 gigs and a spot playing alongside Tiësto at his massive stadium gig in Kiev. Just two years further down the road from their first gigs together, with Trance Energy 2010 fast approaching the pair are ready to play one of the biggest events in the dance music calendar….

The Mainstage Radio Show: Now a regular standing fixture in the trance enthusiasts listening schedule, W&W’s Mainstage radio show exports their diverse sound around the world on a monthly basis. Broadcasting on the renowned Afterhours FM (one of the world’s five most popular trance-based websites), in January of 2010 it was revamped & relaunched with a host of new elements (including regular competitions, features and interviews). Mainstage goes on Afterhours.FM on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month between 18.00 and 19.00 hours CET.

There are (or were, at some point) at least three different acts called Stardust.

1. Stardust was a French house band.
2. Stardust was a short-lived British pop/rock band of the early 1970s.
3. Stardust is an AOR band founded in 2015 by Akos Horvath.
4. Stardust is an alias for New Jersey, United States-based garage house act Blaze.
5. Stardust, a Hungarian melodic rock/AOR band

–==–..

1. Stardust was a French house supergroup. Formed in Paris, France, it was a one-time musical collaboration consisting of producers Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk, Alan Braxe and vocalist Benjamin Diamond. The short-lived group released the popular club track titled "Music Sounds Better with You" in 1998.

2. Stardust was a short-lived English pop/rock outfit of the 1970s. Formed in August 1973 in St. Alban's by frontman Jeff Cloves (and also featuring guitarist Pete Sutton) Stardust released a couple of Cloves-penned tunes in the month of the band's formation: 'Goldie Oldie Show' b/w 'I Don't Care'. Jeff Cloves was also a poet and a music journalist.

5. Stardust, a Hungarian melodic rock/AOR band, released their much anticipated debut full-length, "Highway To Heartbreak" in 2020. One of the hottest new AOR bands to come out of the underground European scene, Stardust's independently released self-titled debut EP stirred up quite a buzz in the underground melodic rock scene. The band were put to the attention of Frontiers' staff during one of the Frontiers Rock Festivals. Impressed with the band's melodic rock stylings on their debut EP, Frontiers moved swiftly to sign the band to the roster. Of the band's sound, vocalist Adam Stewart says, "We love Def Leppard, Winger, Journey and all the 80's stuff..So, we took those influences and mixed it in with our own 'Stardust' way of doing things."

Of notable mention is that none other than the mighty Mark Spiro (Bad English, House of Lords, Giant) and Swedish guitar hero Tommy Denander helped the guys with songwriting and production for their debut album.

"One day I got a note from Mark Spiro! He wrote, 'Hey man, I found a good song that you would really love, what do you think?' I immediately listened to the song and it blew my mind! '2nd Hand Love' is a typical Spiro song with a magical atmosphere and a catchy chorus. I jumped right on it and made a new, modern kinda musical arrangement for the song. A riff centered verse, a bluesy chorus and a brand new intro part," explains Stewart of first single, '2nd Hand Love'.

“Our first EP got really good feedback from the fans, not only from Hungary, but from around the world,” says Stewart. “I am certain that our debut album will be enjoyed by even more melodic rock fans thanks to our new cooperation with Frontiers. Stardust plays AOR/Melodic Rock with catchy melodies and lyrics, so Frontiers is truly a perfect home for us!"

Founded by two friends, Adam Stewart (lead vocals) and Tim Keeley (drums) in 2015, the band is rounded out by Facey (lead guitar and vocals), Dave Legrand (keyboard), and Ben Martin (bass and vocals). The group's style is an amalgam of the classic melodic hard rock and AOR genres, with hooky choruses, beautiful keyboards, vocal harmonies, and loud guitars in the style of their favorite mid-80's bands, bringing to life this well beloved music in the 21st century.

Stardust is the latest in a long line of amazing AOR/Melodic Rock signings for the label, so be sure to stay tuned as they are truly a rising star in the melodic rock scene.

Texas are a Scottish rock band formed in Glasgow in 1986 by Sharleen Spiteri, Johnny McElhone and Ally McErlaine. They made their live debut in March 1988 at the University of Dundee and released their debut single "I Don't Want a Lover" in 1989, followed by the album "Southside" the same year. The album reached number three on the UK Albums Chart and entered the US Billboard 200, later selling over two million copies worldwide. Subsequent albums "Mothers Heaven" (1991) and "Ricks Road" (1993) achieved more moderate commercial success, particularly in parts of Europe.

The band experienced a significant commercial resurgence with their fourth album "White on Blonde" (1997), which reached number one in the United Kingdom and Scotland and became their best-selling release, achieving multi-platinum certification. The album produced several UK top-ten singles, including "Say What You Want", "Black Eyed Boy", "Halo" and "Put Your Arms Around Me". A later version of "Say What You Want" featured the Wu-Tang Clan. The follow-up album "The Hush" (1999) also reached number one in the UK and included successful singles such as "In Our Lifetime" and "Summer Son". In 2000, the compilation "The Greatest Hits" became their third consecutive UK number-one album and included new tracks such as "In Demand" and "Inner Smile".

In the early 2000s, Texas released "Careful What You Wish For" (2003), which reached the UK top five, and "Red Book" (2005), which included the singles "Getaway", "Can't Resist" and "Sleep". After this period, the band entered a hiatus, during which Sharleen Spiteri pursued a solo career, releasing the albums "Melody" (2008) and "The Movie Songbook" (2010).

Texas reunited in 2011 and released "The Conversation" in 2013, their first studio album in eight years. The album reached the UK top five and included singles such as "The Conversation" and "Detroit City". To mark their 25th anniversary, the band issued "Texas 25" in 2015, featuring reworked versions of earlier material alongside new songs.

Their ninth studio album, "Jump on Board" (2017), performed well in several European markets, followed by their tenth album "Hi" (2021), which became their highest-charting UK release since "The Hush". The album included collaborations with the Wu-Tang Clan and other artists, and singles such as "Hi" and "Mr Haze". In 2023, the band released another compilation, "The Very Best of 1989–2023", and continued to perform live, including an appearance at the Glastonbury Festival.

Texas have sold an estimated 40 million records worldwide and remain one of the most commercially successful Scottish bands of their era.

Full Wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_(band)

Studio albums
Southside (1989)
Mothers Heaven (1991)
Ricks Road (1993)
White on Blonde (1997)
The Hush (1999)
Careful What You Wish For (2003)
Red Book (2005)
The Conversation (2013)
Jump on Board (2017)
Hi (2021)

Sonia Marina Clarke (born 21 June 1965 in Crouch End,North London, England), better known by her stage name Sonique, is an English singer, musician and DJ.
Born "Sonia Clarke" in London, England in 1968, of Trinidadian parentage. She was sort of written-off at school but had shown talents in sports. She dreamed of becoming a successful pentathlete up to the time ending up only second in a race. Then she turned to the music scene, dancing at clubs etc. and joined a reggae band as a singer at the age of 17. She was homeless in these times. Her band went defunct the same year, but she got a solo record deal leading to an immediate club hit in the UK. Then Sonique came in contact with several artists of the upcoming Acid House scene, who also worked as DJs, e.g. Tim Simenon (Bomb the Bass) and Mark Moore (S'Express). She wrote and recorded songs with them and joined the S'Express outfit for their second album release. These times she also learned a lot about DJing from her mates, was training her skills at home for several years, before finally having her first public appearance as a DJ in 1994. In January the next year, Sonique got her first engagement as a resident DJ at a London club called Swankey Mode already. Another milestone was her residency from 1997 to 1999 at Manumission in Ibiza. Meanwhile she has traveled many countries of the world for guest DJ appearances.

What makes Sonique so unique as a DJ is that she has blended her excellent powerful and emotive singing abilities with a natural mixing talent to create a unique club atmosphere. As soon as she steps up to the decks she picks up the mic and introduces herself, instantly connecting with the crowd and setting up the atmosphere for an unforgettable night. Right at the peak of the best tunes comes the perfect crescendo of smooth vocals just made up on the spot yet somehow sounding like they are meant to be there. This talent never before seen in clubland is unique to Sonique.

The other leg of her career is to write, record and remix songs, mainly dance-orientated and soulfoul with a high potential to go on top of the club charts as well as the pop charts. Sonique's greatest hit so far is the song «It feels so good», being re-released in 2000 and becoming a chart-topper in many countries that year. Up to now she has recorded three solo albums, has released more than 10 singles and can point to a long list of collaborations with other artists' projects from William Orbit to Josh Wink. Several record labels have released also some albums with live mixes of Sonique's DJ sets.

B U R N S was born in Glasgow on Halloween in 1985. His mother was an artist and painter. His father was a professional heavyweight boxer. Growing up, watching both parents work made a deep impression on BURNS and combined to give him an appreciation of both beauty and power, a combination that comes through in his own work, in his love of melody and of sonic impact.

B U R N S began making music at age twelve, playing guitar and keyboards before discovering sampling as a teenager. Again his parents diverse tastes served him well. BURNS inherited musical interests evolved as he became aware of the French electronic producers of the mid- nineties with the emergence of labels such as Crydamoure, Vulure and Roule and artists like Daft Punk, Cassius and Le Knight Club revolutionising the music scene. As he listened, BURNS consciously studied the records becoming determined to lift his own production skills.

Fast forward to 2000 and at the age of 15 BURNS had started producing his own tracks. Combining sound hardware from the seventies and eighties with modern music software and samples, B U R N S started to produce hundreds of demos, experimenting as he began to define his signature sound. Now, at 23, BURNS is working on his debut album and has a whole series of releases planned for 2009.
